Meet Rebecca

Based in the remote Lake City Colorado, Rebecca Romanowski is an artist, who specializes in capturing the majesty of bears, the surreal terrains of the abstract, and the untapped nature surrounding her. Rebecca has been creating and exploring many forms of artistic expression throughout her life. She has spent time crafting jewelry and fiber arts, and painting.

She began painting at the age of ten with Jackie Goode, since then, she has studied oil painting with Dick Turner and Manon Sander, abstract art and acrylics with Caroline Land, and participated in a number of artists retreats and workshops. Her work has been exhibited at the Lake City Arts Center, Bruce Wood Dance Silent Auction, the Canal Street Gallery and Jane’s Gallery in New Smyrna Beach, and Dallas Resource Center Toast of Life.

As an international flight attendant for the last 40 years, Rebecca has had the opportunity to experience cultures from around the world, which she uses as inspiration in her art. Rebecca believes art is a gift and encourages everyone to continue creating and sharing their work.

Nature is a huge inspiration in Rebecca’s art, especially bears. She has been enamored with the bears for many years having watched them in the wilds of Alaska, and near her home in Lake City Colorado. In her art, she strives to capture their varied personalities, power, and sheer love of life. The natural world truly comes alive in Rebecca’s paintings, and she invites you to explore its many aspects through her art.
